OPI Drip Dry

For the first time ever, I used OPI Drip Dry. This was my first experience of a product that speeds up the drying of nail polish. If I am honest, I've always doubted how good they would be.

I used an OPI nail varnish - Dim Sum Plum - and the Drip Dry that I had purchased. I researched on the internet to find out exactly what to do - I couldn't find any instructions on the packet. After applying 2 coats of nail varnish, and a top coat, I dripped 2 drops of the lacquer on to my nails. I couldn't believe the results. The lacquer really did dry my nails super quick as within a minute they were dry enough to touch without leaving funny marks in the polish!

This is a product I will definitely be using again. Although I love painting my nails, some evenings I really can't be bothered to sit for ages not doing anything whilst my nails dry. I can now paint my nails without being extra careful not to catch them on anything afterwards.

GB Nails

Tomorrow, I will be watching an Olympic event...yay! So I thought I would get into the Olympic spirit by painting my nails red, blue and white! I decided to paint the three colours all on each nail, rather than painting each nail a block colour. I figured as it was the Olympics it was time to be more adventurous.....

Blue Nails

I couldn't wait to try out this 2true nail varnish in shade 2, after purchasing three colours for only £4.99 (review of crystal shine nail polish here). I adore this blue varnish, and the price tag! I didn't want to spend too much money on fashion polish which I won't wear very often, so I thought I'd give this a try. After only 2 coats the colour is a gorgeous opaque shade.

Blue with Bursts of Sun

I adore Sunday mornings when you can get up late, watch a good programme on TV and paint your nails. I mentioned in my previous post the lack of sun lately :-( so felt inspired to bring a bit of sunny cheer to my nails!

One thing I love about painting my nails is the ability to try something slightly different to my normal style - if it doesn't work, out comes the remover!

I created this look with 2 coats of Leighton Denny nail varnish in Daylight Robbery, and then dotted Rimmel Sunshine on top.

Magnetic London

My fiance's Nan bought me Nail's In Magnetic Polish for Christmas and I adore them! Whenever I wear either the purple or the silver-grey someone comments on how unusual they are.
The silvery-grey polish is called Trafalgar Square
The purple polish is called Houses of Parliament.
(I love the fact that they are named after London tourist attractions)

How to use:
Firstly, I always make sure I apply a thin coat to start (as I find that the magnet can make some area slightly thin if you don't).
Secondly, I apply a thicker coat to one nail at a time and then quickly hold the magnet over the nail for around 8 seconds!
And....that's it! Yes, it really is that easy.

Orange Your Life

I have really been impressed with Rimmel nail varnishes lately, but this varnish (Orange your life) was slightly disappointing. I applied the colour outside, so there was plenty of natural light! The colour was fabulous; it was a hot/neon orange! wow.

Unfortunately, when indoors, the colour seemed to lose it's 'luminosity' and it turned into a more 'normal' pretty coloured varnish. Artificial light muted the neon colour and, as I work generally in artificial light, I found myself slightly dissatisfied. That said, when I was outside, I did receive positive comments about the colour!

Overall, I will definitely wear this colour again as it is a gorgeous colour (whatever the light), but it didn't fulfil my desire for a pop of neon colour! I also think I was slightly spoiled because I applied it outside and then expected the neon tone to stay. If, however I had applied it indoors I probably would have been pleasantly surprised by the neon quality when walking outside!

Green Adventure

I saw this colour in Tesco's the other day (3 for 2) and I couldn't wait to try it. Colourful nails are always really fun to try and I've been wanting to try a green nail varnish for a while now.
This one, Maybelline Jade Dusseldorf, is a gorgeous metallic colour. It does need a few coats to make it as strong a colour as the pictures show, but I definitely think it is worth the extra time to apply 3 coats.

Sunshine Fever

I love the colour yellow at the moment - perhaps it's because of the lack of sunshine lately! This nail polish was an impulse buy from Tesco yesterday when I walked past the Rimmel counter!

I have coated my nails 3 times using this polish - I could have got away with 2, but I wanted just one more to make it more intense!

 The colour is 280 Sunshine!
