London Outing

Today I'm wearing.....

Outfit of the day.

This weekend I travelled to London to enjoy the Olympic atmosphere. I have got tickets for an event later in the week, but wanted to look around London and take in all the amazing supporting events that are on! This is the outfit that I chose to wore - I made the most of the sunny weather.

Gladiator sandals - River Island (gold gladiators here)
Belt - Primark (similar here)

Chocolate Shopping

Today I'm Wearing...

Outfit of the day.

I had so much fun today! I went shopping (it was only meant to be a quick shop) but my fiance, mum, fiance's mum and I ended up having a wonderful time browsing and looking for outfits for a wedding in a few weeks.

This is what I wore....

I love the neck on this dress as it is so easy to wear and really flattering. I can make the neck wider or thiner to change the look as well. This is a really old dress from Next, but I just can't get rid of it. A similar neckline can be found here.
The belt is one from House of Fraser, a similar one can be found here.

Summer Nights

Today I'm Wearing....

Outfit of the day...or evening!

Just got back from a lovely dinner and I thought I would share my outfit with you. I really love the colour of this pretty summer dress (I can't wait to wear it with more of a tan!).

Sandals - River Island
Belt - House of Fraser

Beautiful Nails

Good evening everyone! I hope you are still enjoying the sunny weather and are looking forward to the Olympic Ceremony tonight!

This review is about the final nail varnish (shade 3, crystal nail polish) I bought in the 2True 3 for £4.99 offer, and yet again I am impressed with the colour and quality! After only 2 coats my nails are opaque (I hate it when you can see 'nail' through the polish) and shimmery/glossy to look at. Beautiful.

I must add though that the other crystal nail polish I used was difficult to remove - I soaked my nails for a few seconds in varnish as the crystal particles were slightly tricky to get off! Tip: Make sure you have enough remover when you fancy taking it off!

Blue Nails

I couldn't wait to try out this 2true nail varnish in shade 2, after purchasing three colours for only £4.99 (review of crystal shine nail polish here). I adore this blue varnish, and the price tag! I didn't want to spend too much money on fashion polish which I won't wear very often, so I thought I'd give this a try. After only 2 coats the colour is a gorgeous opaque shade.

Cold Water Tip

I absolutely hate waiting ages for my nail varnish to dry! I always find that the 'tacky' stage (when nail varnish isn't quite dry and can be smudged or imprints can be made) can last ages. I always seem to end up with a fabric imprint on my nails or a nail mark unless I run my nails under a cold tap! It might sound strange, but it seems to harden my nail polish and 'dry' my nails. I told a few friends about this a few years ago and they now do this to quicken the drying process when they paint their nails.

Give it a try - let me know if it works for you!

Crystal Nail Polish

I bought this nail varnish today in Superdrug. The make is 2True, which is an inexpensive brand they stock. The varnishes were on offer for £1.99 each or 3 for £4.99 so I thought I would give them a try.

This particular colour is 'shade 6' of the Crystal Nail Varnish range, and it caught my eye because of the shimmery 'crystal' quality of the colour. I am delighted by the results (after 3 thin coats) as the colour is vibrant and it has a beautiful glossy quality!

Flower Power

Today I'm Wearing...

Quick outfit of the day.

I completely forgot to take my camera out with me today, so unfortunately I only have my iphone photo - I am not particularly impressed with the quality! So sorry about the rubbish image!

This is a maxi dress from River Island which I bought for £20 in the sale. Loving the bright colours and pattern!

Blue Sky Monday

Today I'm Wearing...

Outfit of the day.

I am so in love with being able to wear gorgeous dresses that I've had for a while, with no weather to wear them! May the blue skies continue please.

Today, I wore this dress from River Island - which annoyingly I saw in the sale on Saturday, although I hadn't even worn it yet :-( (hate it when that happens)! Anyway, it definitely pushed me to wear it sooner rather than later, so today was the lucky day!

Summer Florals

Today I'm wearing....

Quick outfit of the day.

Today I wore this beautiful floaty maxi dress which I bought last year with silver beaded flipflops and my new pale pink bag from M&S!

Loving this beautiful weather.....hoping everyone has had a chance to enjoy the sun this weekend.

Gold Wedges

I needed a new pair of gold wedges but on my shopping trip to Lakeside I had exhausted nearly all the shops! That was until I went to Primark. Primark is not somewhere I ever really think of looking for shoes, especially as I have thin feet and slide through the front of a lot of shoes (Primark shoes tend not to fit as they usually are too wide)! However, I ended up browsing and came across these wedges for only £16!

They are really comfortable, a perfect fit (although I was a size 6 when I'm usually a 7) and I love the more muted gold colour.

Pale Pink Tote Bag

This is one of my favourite purchases recently. It is a Limited Collection Pale Pink Tote Bag from Marks and Spencers!
I absolutely love the colour of this bag as it is a soft sugary pink, but not too 'girly' (after all I don't want it to look like a young girls bag)! It is quite roomy inside, and the structured style of the bag ensures that it won't look well worn after only a few weeks.

Shoe love

I bought these shoes from Topshop last week in the sale! They were reduced from £62 to £20!! What a bargain.

They are selling the same style in blue online, although they are full price.

Weekend Roast

Today I'm wearing....

Outfit of the day.

I love a Sunday Roast and as the weather was slightly brighter today I thought it was about time I wore this dress from Oasis (buy in the sale here)
Sandals - Linzi
Watch - Aldo
Denim Jacket - Topshop (similar here)
Bag - Primark
Belt - Primark

Blue with Bursts of Sun

I adore Sunday mornings when you can get up late, watch a good programme on TV and paint your nails. I mentioned in my previous post the lack of sun lately :-( so felt inspired to bring a bit of sunny cheer to my nails!

One thing I love about painting my nails is the ability to try something slightly different to my normal style - if it doesn't work, out comes the remover!

I created this look with 2 coats of Leighton Denny nail varnish in Daylight Robbery, and then dotted Rimmel Sunshine on top.

What do you think of this pattern?

Weekend Casual

Today I'm Wearing....

Outfit of the Day.

The weather at the moment is highly unpredictable and as a result, I'm finding it really tricky to know what to wear! Yesterday, the weather was rainy (although quite warm) but as I was going to an indoor shopping centre I decided to wear a dress with sandals!

I really love the pattern of this dress and the silky material. It was a Zara purchase from a couple of months ago (I think!). I teamed the dress with gold/silver sandals from Primark, my watch from Aldo with the gold strap and a dark tan tie front belt which I have had since I was about 15!

Bio-Oil

I'm sure many women out there have stretch marks from when they started to grow hips etc. I am no exception. Bio-oil has been around forever, but I recently started to use it after seeing it on offer at Boots and reading articles recommending it to women who have stretch marks from pregnancy. My theory was that if it is good enough to use after that, it must be a great buy!

In all, I would thoroughly recommend this product as it leaves the skin feeling ultra smooth. I haven't been using it long enough to notice a dramatic difference in stretch marks (I have noticed a slight improvement), but regardless, it is the best moisturizer I have ever used. It doesn't leave my skin itchy (which I am prone too) or feeling heavy and clogged up the next morning.

The only problem with it is that I get through a bottle really quickly - it is one of those products that is rather addictive and so I do end up using quite a lot. Nonetheless, it is definitely a product that I will continue to use!

Magnetic London

My fiance's Nan bought me Nail's In Magnetic Polish for Christmas and I adore them! Whenever I wear either the purple or the silver-grey someone comments on how unusual they are.
The silvery-grey polish is called Trafalgar Square
The purple polish is called Houses of Parliament.
(I love the fact that they are named after London tourist attractions)

How to use:
Firstly, I always make sure I apply a thin coat to start (as I find that the magnet can make some area slightly thin if you don't).
Secondly, I apply a thicker coat to one nail at a time and then quickly hold the magnet over the nail for around 8 seconds!
And....that's it! Yes, it really is that easy.

Frizz-Ease Delight

I decided to try a styling spray for the first time the other day. My John Frieda shampoo and conditioner were on offer in Tesco - 3 products for £10, so I bought the styling spray as a cheap little extra!

This product is absolutely fantastic. My hair is very prone to 'puffiness' if I just blow dry it, and if I leave my hair in a towel for a bit longer (say 15mins) it is a nightmare to try and create a smooth look with a hairdryer and brush!

Typically, the first night I wanted to try the spray I got distracted and ended up leaving my hair in a towel so it was half dry! I thought I'd give the product a try anyway and......amazing! It left my hair sleek and manageable. The fact that I had left it to dry for so long didn't seem to matter.

I have used it a few times since then and have been pleased with the results. Each time my hair has dried easily, and kept it's style. I would recommend this product to anyone with hair which can be more difficult to style and is prone to 'puff'!

Orange Your Life

I have really been impressed with Rimmel nail varnishes lately, but this varnish (Orange your life) was slightly disappointing. I applied the colour outside, so there was plenty of natural light! The colour was fabulous; it was a hot/neon orange! wow.

Unfortunately, when indoors, the colour seemed to lose it's 'luminosity' and it turned into a more 'normal' pretty coloured varnish. Artificial light muted the neon colour and, as I work generally in artificial light, I found myself slightly dissatisfied. That said, when I was outside, I did receive positive comments about the colour!

Overall, I will definitely wear this colour again as it is a gorgeous colour (whatever the light), but it didn't fulfil my desire for a pop of neon colour! I also think I was slightly spoiled because I applied it outside and then expected the neon tone to stay. If, however I had applied it indoors I probably would have been pleasantly surprised by the neon quality when walking outside!

New Navy

The weather has been so unpredictable lately, which makes choosing what to wear doubly difficult! A longer dress i.e. midi or maxi, is a great summer buy as it is easy to wear at any time in the summer (and any type of weather!).

This midi dress was from a boutique near me and I absolutely adore the 'lace up' detail at the front.

Sparkle Time

Although I only painted my nails last night, I really fancied painting my nails again! I find it really relaxing and feel pampered at the end. However, I really liked the colour of my nails so I decided to try out a sparkle polish on top!

This particular glitter nail varnish is by Rimmel -500 Disco Ball- and I usually find that shimmery polishes are thin on the sparkle factor (a lot of varnish with little glitter). This one isn't as glittery as I would like it to be after one coat (but maybe no polish will ever live up to my expectations). Then again, after a few coats my nails started to look very pretty and the particles really caught the light! I particularly like the blue particles as they add real depth to the polish.

Overall, I do really like this nail polish and I would use it again. It is also a great alternative to the more pricey varnishes out there!

P.S Adding the glitter nail varnish seems to have 'toned' down the bright green colour and turned it into a lighter, more mint green colour. I like!

Green Adventure

I saw this colour in Tesco's the other day (3 for 2) and I couldn't wait to try it. Colourful nails are always really fun to try and I've been wanting to try a green nail varnish for a while now.
This one, Maybelline Jade Dusseldorf, is a gorgeous metallic colour. It does need a few coats to make it as strong a colour as the pictures show, but I definitely think it is worth the extra time to apply 3 coats.

Lumie Clear Update...

I updated you all on the 20th June regarding my progress using Lumie Clear Red and Blue Light Treatment. At the time, my skin had begun to see an improvement!

Exactly 2 weeks later I am pleased to report that my forehead and the right cheek are looking a lot clearer again, with the 'under the skins' continuing to reduce in size and amount. It hasn't completely stopped new spots from appearing, but there are less. My left cheek is improving but, unfortunately, not as quickly.

So far I am pleased with the results, and my skin generally is looking fresh and glowy. I don't know if this is a direct effect of the lamp or the fact that my skin is clearer, but either way my skin is looking GOOD!

I will continue to use Lumie Clear and keep you updated.....I'm hoping that my skin will continue to improve and eventually clear completely! Although it is taking a while, no treatment is an overnight fix. Roaccutane took around a month to work for me (and that was a very strong acne drug). I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will be completely successful in clearing my acne and I can then use it as a long term solution for my stubborn and persistant acne!

Pastel Print Scarf

Cotton scarves are always a really easy way to keep warm on chilly summer evenings and add extra detail to a more casual outfit. This scarf caught my eye the other day with its beautiful creamy colours and hint at leopard print pattern (I do love a bit of animal print).

LBD

Today I'm wearing....

Over the weekend the sun was out and so were everyones summer wardrobe! This is a dress that I bought a while ago from a boutique and I couldn't wait to wear it with a gold belt and gold sandals. I do love a black dress and, although black isn't the most summery of colours, I loved the neckline and chiffon material.

Paisley Print

Today I'm wearing.....

Outfit of the day.

Today I'm wearing a dress from H&M (there were different patterns and colours available), gold Primark jelly sandals, my watch from Aldo with the gold strap and a tan belt which came with the dress.
This is a beautiful summer dress, really comfortable and easy to wear.
